A5R's INITIATIVE 2006

The inter-industry "A5R's Conference" planned for February 27 through March 1, 2006 was postponed.  

AMC International and the Arizona District Export Council had planned to co-sponsoring the Conference in cooperation with the Phoenix Export Assistance Center, U.S. Department of Commerce. Unfortunately, certain conflicts have arisen at the International Trade Administration, U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. that would preclude representatives from that organization being able to participate and support the A5R's Conference.

It was also brought to our attention that another East Coast based organization is giving serious consideration to hosting a more focused conference on "Remanufacturing" in the relatively near future.

AMC International and the Arizona District Export Council encourage all parties that are involved in the buying and selling of secondary market products to support both the efforts being put forth by the ITA and the "Remanufacturing" conference as proposed. The overriding consideration and goal should be for a more open and mature global secondary market. We believe that once representatives from the various industries and government agencies involved understand the value of working together in addressing common opportunities and challenges, the value of an ongoing annual A5R Conference will become readily apparent.
